In this issue:
How personal struggle became a clear testimony of God's plan

In this powerful episode of Footsteps to Heaven, Jessica Murdolo shares her remarkable journey of conversion, healing, and discovering God’s call in the midst of everyday life. What begins as a story of personal struggle becomes a clear testimony of how God patiently leads us—often through unexpected moments, quiet prayer, and even the struggles we wish we could avoid. If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re missing God’s direction—or how to recognize it when it comes—this episode will speak directly to you.

Jessica Murdolo

You’ll hear:
• How God often speaks through repeated “signs” and encounters
• Why silence, prayer, and adoration are essential for discernment
• How suffering and struggle can become turning points for mission
• What it looks like when God gradually reveals your calling step by step

Jessica says:

I would say that the year of the [COVID] shutdown was probably the best worst thing to ever happen in my life. I was not practicing my faith and that time was very, very difficult. And in my own stresses, my own anxieties and everything that I was going through, I was making it far worse for my family, for my husband and for my children.

I remember lying in bed one night sobbing. It was at that moment that I cried out to the Lord. I said, “God, I don’t believe that You’re there, but if You are, You need to show up. I am giving You all of my anxiety, all of my fear, all of my worries, all of my stresses, and I want You to hold it.

I fell asleep crying. Now, shame on me for giving God an ultimatum. However, I’m pretty sure His reply was, “I have been waiting 40 years to hear you say that.” And I knew when I woke up the next morning — there was not some great thunderbolt and lightning — I just knew something was different. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I was able to get through the day better. And each day became a little easier. and God just started opening my eyes to what was around me and putting people and opportunities in my path….

We started going back to church, and He just put these amazing people on my path. Have you ever had that instance where somebody tells you something over here and then someone totally unrelated tells you the same thing over here, and once it gets to the third or fourth time you think to yourself, “I really ought to look into this.” …

Terry:

There’s nothing wrong whatsoever with giving God an ultimatum because, when we do it from where you were at, where it’s the bottom of the pit where we get desperate — We have to get to that point sometimes before we hear what God’s plan for us is. You know, He does not force us into any plan. His will is never forced upon us and He waits for us to say, “What I’m doing isn’t working. God, show up, please. And and that’s the first essential step in knowing God’s will and then being able to do it well…. [continue]
