In the premier issue:

Can evangelization be effective without Father God?

Recently I had some repair work done on my house. One of the handyman crew was a woman who is an inactive Catholic. I gave her a copy of my book, The Father's Heart: Meet the real Abba Father. I told her that it would bring her comfort and answer the unspoken questions in her heart. The next day she, when she returned to my house to work, she ran to me and said:

“I started to read the book you wanted me to read! It is phenomenal about helping a person get back to where they should be and who they want to be and why they should be that person and why God will place you where you need to be in your life and help you if you ask.”

The book had jump-started her return to the Church after just one day.

When we think of “evangelization,” we usually think about conversion to Christ. That’s good but not enough. Conversion begins with Christ and deepens with Father God. The healing of father wounds brings with it a lifetime change in their relationship with God. There's a connection between how we've been treated by our fathers (and other authority figures) and our misunderstandings about God's Fatherhood.

How do you help the people you serve when you recognize that their relationship with God the Father isn't what it should be? It's extremely essential to get down to the core: father wounds.

Ideally, everyone we evangelize or invite into more spiritual growth should have a spiritual director. Realistically, most people won't do it. Unlike all other books on God's Fatherhood, my book, The Father's Heart, is a workbook that teaches, enlightens, and reinforces the healing journey as if I were meeting with the reader one-on-one, serving as their spiritual coach.
